The SIA recently reported a news story about a security boss found guilty of defrauding the security operatives he employed.  The SIA licenced guards operated in a number of locations and were not paid for their work.  In this case the employer used various aliases and set up several businesses which were run from his home between 2012 and 2016.  He was investigated following a number of complaints that were made about his failure to pay security operatives.

How to stay safe if you’re walking alone at night

It’s that time of year again.  The clocks go back at the weekend and the days are getting shorter. If you have to walk home in the dark there are precautions you can take to keep yourself safe.
 
Plan ahead
Make sure you know the route you’re taking and try to avoid any unfamiliar areas.  Try to avoid short cuts and stick to well-lit main roads.   If possible, book a taxi or arrange a lift with friends in advance to avoid walking somewhere you don’t know.
